Summary: As part of an MBA entrepreneurship course, I led a 5-person team on a marketing consulting project for Closet Infinite, a startup founded by Carnegie Mellon University engineering and business students that aimed to be the “Airbnb of fashion.” Over the course of 6 weeks, the team conducted in-depth research and analysis for Closet Infinite on how it could go to market with a minimally viable product (MVP) and communicate its unique selling proposition (USP) that married the best parts of Stitch Fix, Rent the Runway, and peer-to-peer online fashion marketplaces like Poshmark.
Role: Team Lead
Results: Conducted research through qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys to identify who the target customers of the product are, estimated market size and structure for the peer-to-peer fashion platform, and evaluated the market potential for the startup compared to competitors in the fashion/tech space. Recommended that startup not continue to invest in space given low margins and return on investment.
